Hate Bad Habits

"Hate is a strong word, but I really really really don't like you," Hate (I Really Don't Like You) by Plain White T's.

The holiday mood has died down a little, so I thought I'd post something unrelated to my holidays. This post has been on my draft page for a long time, so I figured "might as well get it over and done with." And now, on with the post.

And yeah, hate is a bit strong, but I really, really, really don't like people who:

1. Chew with their mouths open.
You know who they are. They could be family members, friends or even enemies. They make sitting at the same table with them for any meal just plain torture. Those responsible for making you lose your appetite because you've been grinding your teeth the whole time they're eating. Those unfortunate enough to receive a basic life lesson: No one wants to see or hear what's going on inside your mouth, so shut it! For crying out loud, just SHUT IT!

2. Don't know how to signal their turns.
It's a big mystery how these people even got their driving license. Oh wait, these are the people who are two-faced. When there's a law enforcement officer in sight, they turn into frickin' angels, going at 20 km/h, seat belts securely buckled, both hands on wheels, signalling every turn (some even go to the extent of using hand signals). But devil may care when there's no policeman or JPJ officer there. Frickin' speeding and changing lanes like the roads were purposely made for their personal indulgence. How I would like to slam Adam into these douchebags of the road. If only it was the Gadget-mobile. *sigh

3. Litter.
If the world were a big trash can, then all the inhabitants would be the trash. Do you like being called trash? Then stop acting like the world is a trash can! (VERY articulately put, anak pak man) Seriously, every time I see a person litter right in front of me, several things would go through my mind, and they don't stop short at verbal abuse. Usually, I would feel like ripping the person's limbs off, one by one and sewing them back on and make them drink their own blood right after it has been boiled (too much horror movies for you, anak pak man). But usually I just pick up the litter for them in hopes of them feeling a deep crevice of shame materializing inside of their conscience.

There are a few more bad habits that I can't stand, but at the moment, only these come to mind. I'll post a part 2 of this post if any great annoyances come to mind.

How about you? Any bad habits that you can't stand? Don't feel shy to drop a comment!

Cheers!

CNY Holidays (Part 3)

"One look sends it coursing through the veins," You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Looking Straight At Me by Arctic Monkeys.

Place: Home
Time: 5.43pm
Mood: Full, tired and flustered.

Fugu!

I knew I should have uploaded those pictures when I had the chance.

I'm referring to the pictures of part 3 of my CNY holiday adventure. The camera has been taken away.

I'll start from the start.

So after another unproductive morning and afternoon at Ayah Su's, I was relieved when Mak asked us "Let's go Nilai 3-ing?" Even though I knew that there was nothing much there for an almost 20 year-old notaboynotyetaman like me and his brother, but I was itching to get out of the house.

So we, I drove the Toyota Serena there to be greeted by acres and acres of textile stores. ACRES! While Mak and Kak Fatin went to do their thang, Boy and me just wandered around, looking at uninteresting stuff while snapping some pictures.

(The pictures would have been here if I had them with me)

With the day nearing dusk, we headed back home, just a less-than-10-minute drive back to the house.

Then we had a great dinner, spaghetti and meatballs! I ate 'till I couldn't eats no mores. Shortly after that, we packed our things and headed on home.

Funny (stupid, careless, stupid) thing happened on our way back. I was awaken from my slumber by my father and asked if I could drive up until Tapah (we just exited Sg. Buloh at the time). I gladly accepted while repeating to myself in my head "Just go straight, no turning."

That mantra turned out to be my downfall as the first turn that I missed turned out to be THE turn that I had to make (and this wasn't even 3 kilometres into my taking the wheel).

I (unintentionally, stupidly) took us back towards KL. My father took the wheel back from me in a jiffy and he brought us back on track.

Funny story, right?

Moral of the story: read the friggin' road signs!!!

It wasn't all bad news. I was given a rare second chance to drive midway through the trip. I drove for almost an hour before my eyes failed me and I had to surrender. Before you say that I'm weak, I didn't know that I was expected to drive. If I did, I would have taken a nap that afternoon to be in better condition to drive that night.

So we arrived home at about 3.30 in the morning, unpacked and continued sleeping until Subuh, then I prolonged my session until 10.30 am.

I woke up to find that my father had already hopped on a bus back to KL and subsequently hopping to KLIA to hop on a plane that would hop to Bangkok. Tournament there.

I started with my HD assignment, but before I could finish even one paragraph, I thought "Hey, I need to renew my IC!" So off with Adam to Guar to get that settled.

But before that, I extracted some of my allowance money to be put into my Tabung Haji account so that I wouldn't get any bright ideas to spend it all in Vegas (or in the Malaysian context, Genting).

The most money that has ever been in my wallet at one time. (Tak banyak pon)

The immigration office, waiting my turn. And waiting. And waiting.

Then we got home, and I immediately felt the urge to update bloggy.

I asked Boy, "Where's the Lumix (camera)?"

He replied "Bapak bawak.."

As you would imagine, I was berry astonished to find out.

Because he took it with him, I can't post any pictures taken from that camera. And there were quite a few interesting ones in there too.

Oh well, as Nirvana would put it, nevermind. Another day, another dollar. He who laughs last laughs best. A penny saved is a penny earned. The early bird catches the worm. And a bag of chips.

info: the pictures of me with the money and the immigration office were taken with my black FujiFilm.

Cheers!

CNY Holidays (Part 2.5)

"I won't give up on you...So don't give up on me," The Sadness Will Never End by Bring Me The Horizon.

Place: STILL at Ayah Su's House
Time: 1.14am
Mood: Too bored. And hungry.

This post can't really be called the 3rd part, because absolutely NOTHING interesting happened today.

I was awaken at 11 something (early for my standards) by Mak asking me if I wanted to go to Nilai 3 to get some shopping done. Not being in much of a shopping mood (and with an ever deflating bank deficit), I politely declined. Little did I know that it was to be the only invitation out of the house that I would receive for the whole day.

*sigh*

So today was spent with Facebook status updates, photo comments, status comments, YouTubing, movie watching (re-watched 300 and Zombieland) and basically, hardcore time-wasting. (Oh crap, I feel guilty).

I don't think the WHOLE day was unproductive. I did get a little transcribing done for my Ed. Philosophy assignment. Yeah, just a little bit. It's just uber-boring listening to teachers talking about the KBSR and the NPE (and I'm sure they get bored talking about it too).

Okay, I take that back. Being a teacher-trainee requires me to want to know all these things, and yeah, I do. But it's hard trying to concentrate with the brothers watching movies using the cool sound system and flat-screen Plasma TV here in Ayah Su's house. Plus, I'm really into Bring Me The Horizon's Suicide Season at the moment. I even searched Oli Sykes (the lead vocalist) on YouTube to see him in interviews. Okay, out of topic.

But I guess this post is pretty much a nothing post. But it's not in my nature to post a nothing post, so I'll leave you guys with something to smile about.

He is a cop,
and he's learning impaired.
He's the RETARDED POLICEMAN!!!

Cheers!

p/s-Sorry, no pictures today. Only pictures of me belly-down in front of the laptop, and I know you won't dig that. Peace!

CNY Holidays (Part 2)

"We stare at broken clocks," Suicide Season by Bring Me The Horizon.

Place: Again, at Ayah Su's house.
Time: 1.34am
Mood: Sleepy, but determined to update blog.

So yeah, I've been away for a few days. Been crashin' at my Aunt's place for 2 nights, with no Internet connection, so no updates (obviously).

Sparing you the moody mumbo-jumbo (mumbo jumbo? seriously?), I get to the second part of my week-long CNY holiday.

So, after chillin' at Ayah Su's house, off we went to Melaka to go to Cik Mah's house pulak. It took us a while and we arrived at about midnight. Distraught at finding out that Internet connection was nowhere to be found, I found solace in the conversations that my cousins (kak Fatin n Kak Farah) provided me. We always had stuff to talk about, ranging from the serious thing like family matters to the downright mengarut (nonsensical) things like aerobics for hospital patients.

The house upon arrival.

Me, Kak Farah and Nurul.

Kak Fatin.

Nothing that eventful took place the following day. But for dinner, we went to
Yeah, ikan bakar (burned fish?) baybeh!

And pix!

3 beradik: Cik Mah, Ayah Su and Mak.

Full stomachs!

Posing upon departure.

Unfortunately, no food pictures were taken as they were too anxious to get into our stomachs to be snapped by the lens.

The following day, we headed to Dataran Pahlawan (I just found out that it was a mall) and visited the A Famosa Fort.

Amirul leading the way.

In front of le Forte~

Amirul giving Aina a piggy-back ride up the stairs. (Awwwww~)

All the kids! Photography session on top.

We wanted to go on the Taming Sari Tower too, but were put off after discovering that you needed to wait in line for an eternity to even get close the ride.

This is the tower. Looks pretty cool from here, the back of the line.

Oh yeah, did I mention that I met up with Julia? She treated me and Boy to Burger King at Mahkota Parade. Thanks!!!

Boy is behind the lens.

After that, we were pretty much done with walking around, so we headed back to the house in Duyong. We set off to Nilai again at about 9 o'clock. We took a slight detour to have some famous Hj. Samuri Satay Kajang. (sorry, no pics. concentrating on the eating).

A few burps later, we arrived safely to where I'm typing now, Ayah Su's crib.

That's all for part 2.

Cheers!

CNY Holidays (Day 1)

"I don't want it, I just need it," The Comedown by Bring Me The Horizon.

Place: Ayah Su's House in Nilai, the 9th State.
Time: 5.23pm
Mood: Neutral

We departed at 6am, not 2am as planned, but we still managed to arrive in KL quite early, about 10.30am. The highway was clear all the way South (the way we were heading) but jammed all the way North. The KL holiday exodus, happens every time.

So straight to IKEA for some hardcore shopping!

But not before some much needed breakfast.

IKEA sure gives you big proportions.

The sandwich alone can stave off hunger until dinner. So yeah, they're big.

The familia.

Silly thing happened. We ate the sandwiches cold. After a bite, I was wondering, "Are we supposed to be eating these things cold?" We all were.
After we'd finished eating, we found a microwave oven that customers are SUPPOSED to use to heat their food. I slapped my head so hard I had a minor concussion. (Okay, just kidding..) But I sure felt like it.

The end product.

So off to hardcore shopping mode!

Not much to report there. I'll put the pics at the end, coz I want to finish typing first.

Later (several hours later, in fact) we went to Borders where my father was Starbucking while Fakebooking the whole time we were in furniture heaven. I asked my father for two books, (since the 2nd book was half-priced). I got Nicholas Sparks' "The Notebook" (yeah, I haven't read it yet. Got a problem with that??) and a book about Verbal Intelligence. I can't really recall the title at the moment, but it promises to be an interesting read. Who knows? I might be able to speak with the likes of Obama, or maybe even nigahiga after I'm through with that book. (I'm ambitious, so what?)

After acquiring the books, we vroom on over to where we are right now, some Taman Perumahan in Nilai.

And now we're just chillin' in da crib, yaknowwhaddumsayin'??

I'll update some more when the next opportunity presents itself.

In the meantime, here are those pictures that I promised earlier.

Entra~

Crowded much~

For me and my shadow, obviously..

The biggest thimble I have ever seen. Seriously.

Cheers!

Long Time No See

"Repetition is memory. Memory is ENERGY!!!," Mr. Raju, Education Philosophy lecturer.

Yeah, I'm back typing. And I'm gonna spare you the ohmygodmylifehasbeensohecticlatelythatidonthavetimetoblog bull.

This post is just here to inform you that I won't be updating you guys with the stuff that's got me busy the past month or so. Instead, future posts will be mostly about my CNY holiday. My aim is to have a post everyday for the next week, updating you guys with my 9-day holiday.

If by any chance I won't be able to get Internet connection (please don't happen), then I guess it'll be too bad. BUT, as us Muslims say, "Sebaik-baik perancang adalah Allah (Allah knows best)," so I shouldn't complain if that happens.

Oh yeah, we (the familia) will staying in my Aunts' and Uncles' houses in Melaka and Nilai for the next 6 days, so that'll be something to blog about (right?). And we'll be going off at 2am later.

If the posts are uninteresting, then you can always go see videos of nigahiga to cheer yourself up. So, with that, I leave you with his latest video.

Cheers!
